With over five decades of dedicated service in healthcare, Lou Ann stands as a pillar of experience, compassion, and leadership. She has served as the Administrator at Northgate Care Center since 1981, a role she has held with unwavering commitment. Her journey began as a CNA and evolved through roles as Office Manager and Assistant Administrator, reflecting a lifelong devotion to the care and well-being of seniors.
Lou Ann’s passion for senior care is rooted in her deep respect for the lives and stories of the residents she serves. She finds purpose in building relationships—with residents and their families—and strives to create an environment where every individual feels valued. Holding an associate degree from Des Moines Area Community College, a bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration from Ottawa University, and a master’s in Health Education from the University of Northern Iowa, Lou Ann has combined academic achievement with hands-on experience to lead with empathy, excellence, and heart. Throughout her remarkable career, she has left an indelible mark on countless lives, shaping a legacy of trust and compassion.
Director of Nursing
Andrea has served as Director of Nursing at Northgate Care Center since 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience from skilled nursing homes, hospitals, and clinics. A humble leader who prefers to shine a light on her team rather than herself, Andrea has nonetheless guided her nursing department through three consecutive deficiency-free state surveys—a remarkable accomplishment that reflects both her leadership and her commitment to excellence in resident care.
Her passion for nursing began with a focus on pediatrics and geriatrics—two populations she believes require the strongest advocates. That belief fuels her work every day as she supports residents and families through compassionate, person-centered care. Andrea holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Western Technical College and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Upper Iowa University in 2016. She’s driven by a deep desire to teach and empower others, with future aspirations of earning her Master’s in Nursing Education. Andrea approaches each day with empathy, advocacy, and the goal of making a meaningful difference—one smile at a time.
Assisted Living Manager/Health Service Coordinator
Jenny’s career in senior care is rooted in passion, empathy, and hands-on experience. As the Assisted Living Manager and Health Service Coordinator at South crest Manor II Assisted Living, she leads with a servant heart—having spent 13 years as a CNA before stepping into leadership in 2021. Her deep understanding of frontline caregiving enables her to support and guide her team with authenticity and respect.
Initially pursuing medical billing, Jenny’s plans shifted after discovering her love for geriatrics. What began as a short-term role turned into a lifelong calling. Today, she finds joy in the relationships she builds with tenants, families, and her team—considering them all part of the Southcrest family. Her mission is simple: to ensure residents feel supported and cared for, and to inspire her staff to provide the best care possible. Jenny wakes up each day proud to do the work she loves.

Southcrest Manor II offers comfortable apartments featuring full kitchens and secure entries. The community includes raised garden beds, a private courtyard, and easy access to skilled nursing services at Northgate Care Center.
